Starbucks Card Mobile App - I Love You! My Favorite App (today :)

Starbucks, I love you! iPhone, I love you!

Yes, Starbucks, my Apple and Target have teamed up to make my coffee love, mac affair and shopping joys merge in a beautiful way! Simplicity! So today when I take my son to Target for tennis shoes, I'm buying myself my favorite Starbucks drink, Skinny Misto, with my iPhone! Really!

Just when it couldn't get any better, Starbucks and Apple bring us the Starbucks Card Mobile App! Am in love with the convenience! And Starbucks helped me make money.

Once I uploaded the App and checked it out, Voila! They game me the balance on three cards that I didn't know had a balance! That's right - giving me money back. Of course, you have to have your custom Starbucks card registered with Starbucks for them to help track it for you.

Share your love of Starbucks, Apple and Target with me! :) These companies get Moms!

Seventh Generation

Spring is in the air, actually near record highs are making it seem like summer is here. We are always on the hunt for more things to do that are simple, effective ways to make our world a better place in which to live. We are always recycling as much as possible around the house. We save a full trash containers worth of recyclables every 2 weeks.

The proverbial "spring cleaning" begun in earnest at our household, and the entire family is absolutely thrilled to be using some new (to us) environmentally friendly, ie "green" products to help us with this endeavour. Mountain Man and I are thrilled to partner and share with you about Seventh Generation. This company is amazing!

Seventh Generation has everything you need to accomplish your spring cleaning and more! The products that are used are environmentally friendly around the house and can be recycled after use! Check out this small list of some of the features of one of their cleaners:

Non-toxic & biodegradable
Hypo-allergenic
Does not create harsh fumes
Not tested on animals
Kosher-certified

Awesome! Seventh Generation, "For 20 years, the closely held Burlington, Vermont-based company has been at the forefront of a cultural change in consumer behavior and business ethics." What a great company to work with. The wrapping paper on around the paper towel is recyclable also! I gave it to Mountain Man for this weeks recycle pick up!

The products smell nice and not overbearing. I have to tell you, it is so nice to have nontoxic goodness to clean with everyday! The completely recycled paper towels absorb well and are sturdy too. Check out the cute cleaning caddy for organizing! It is completely recycled as well.

You know we love healthy living and eating. We love healthy eating and 'go organic' often. And who would have thought there is a cookbook on how to eat more healthily and naturally. This includes advice and recipes from some of the greats: Dan Barber, Joan Gussow, Emeril Lagasse and more! Did you hear me, Emeril Lagasse! Check out Seventh Generation and start going green today with some simple, awesome products and recipes!

I will admit as a busy mom of twin boys, it is not always easy and simple to recycle, yet it is worth every effort to literally have a hand in making the world a brighter place. And it is music to our ears when the Tigers say, "Dad, we can recycle that!" :)

Now for the Fun! Seventh Generation has offered a Giveaway of the "Disinfecting Cleaning Kit!" Here's how you Enter to Win: (leave a comment/entry once for each step 1-3 that you do). Good Luck!

Carolina Proud: Duke Wins NCAA Championship!

Carolina proud!

Really!

Keeping the NCAA in North Carolina - Duke won the NCAA in the final seconds of the most amazing minute-by-minute Championship game of all time! And Duke got to cut the net for the fourth time this year! What a journey!

Just last year we celebrated the UNC Tar Heels like this. This year, Duke brings it home.

Here's the scoop from the locals .

So exciting and so low scoring for a NCAA Championship! Duke wins 61-59 Over Butler

Kudos to Butler to the shot that rang around the world! That basket was so close from half-court! Talk about a game of momentum and excitement throughout!

"He Lives!"

He Lives!
Grew up hearing this song. So true - He Lives!

How do I know He lives? He lives within my heart! Do you know Him?!

God sent His son, They called Him Jesus. He came to love, heal and forgive. He lived and died, to buy my pardon. An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know, I know, I know He holds the future.
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

How sweet to hold a new born baby, and feel the pride and joy he gives. But greater still is that assurance the child can face uncertain days because He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know, I know, I know He hold the future.
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

And then one day, I'll cross that river. I'll fight life's final war with pain. And then as death gives way to victory. I'll see the light of glory and I'll know that He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know, I know, I know He hold the future.
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

Easter Bonnet Fashion 2010

Back in the day.... my sweet Carolina Mama dressed her four girls in Easter Bonnets and Gloves, her son in suits, and ties and vests. Yes! Imagine, if that's the children, think how dashing my parents were. Camelot! So was it any surprised at my Wedding- who wore elbow length gloves?! Going away hat to match my going-away suit just like my dear mother.

Anyone else remember this tradition?

Understandably and unfortunately I have lost lots of you. You were not privy to the awesome styles and traditions. Now you'll understand why I miss the Easter Bonnets, gloves and those classic Southern traditions. And I was privileged to learn them in high-fashion style. You can see where I get my love of accessories. Never mind that it was a brisk end-of-winter night when I took this stroll down memory lane - or my favorite giraffe scarf that wouldn't be coupled with these Easter chic frocks- it's another timeless beauty. Now for the Easter bonnets take a look.

This one is a real classic beauty. I mean there is nothing like black and white.

... unless it's a little black and red!

The young girl got into the styles with me. Look how well she wears it! Heather and white.

Easter Resurrection Rolls!

Just when I thought I had all of my Easter Family Traditions in order... I'm changing things up on everyone. In lieu of Resurrection Cookies (and Cake!), I am making Resurrection Rolls to accompany our Easter Dinner and guests.

It does seem like everybody's talking about the Easter Resurrection Rolls. Imagine what they were all talking about when Jesus was resurrected! These are special to remind us of the empty tomb and the miracle there!

Recently, I have had a few emails requesting this recipe so I thought I would post it for those who may not have it. You still have time to try it this Easter Weekend. Here is the recipe we are going to use, courtesy of All Recipes.

Easter Resurrection Rolls

Ingredients

1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
8 large marshmallows
1/4 cup melted butter
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons white sugar
Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Separate crescent rolls into individual triangles.
In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar.
Dip a marshmallow into melted butter, then roll in sugar mixture. Place marshmallow into the center of a dough triangle. Carefully wrap the dough around the marshmallow. Pinch the seams together tightly to seal in marshmallow as it melts. Place on a baking sheet. Repeat.
Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
