Prayer Warriors Arise - These Families Need Your Prayers

Friends you know our community - the mom blogging community is a whole lot of fun. We're not only fun but we have been blessed with amazing friendships and connections, too. Some of you have been praying along with us for Melanie's sweet son, Andrew. Please see the update below.

Also, a new friend, Shellie, on one of my mommy blogging teams, just lost her precious 2 year old son. Please read and pray along for these families in this time and especially at Christmastime. God Bless you! And in the words of Shellie herself, "Hug your children closely!"

URGENT! From Bella Mella's friend Lisa Chats regarding "Praying for Andrew!"

Bloggy Friends!! Please pray for Andrew right now. I just received a text from Melanie and the doctors don't give Andrew much time. Maybe hours.

We know who holds time in His hands. We know who numbers Andrew's days and has his life planned out from beginning to end. We long to see Andrew experience the goodness of the Lord and complete healing in the land of the living! We are asking for Andrew's healing. A healing that will be used for God's glory, spreading His fame everywhere, all over the earth! I am praying that God will rise with healing in his wings and Andrew will go out and skate like Tony Hawk on steroids!! Let's stand together in victory. Andrew's victory. Melanie's victory. The Lord's victory. Amen!

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Malachi 4:2

Also, please pray for Shellie and Family in Florida - they lost their 2 year old Baby today due to a pool accident.... unspeakable.

Skate Boy Andrew Needs A Miracle

This first day of September, I wake up to my boys saying "Happy September Mom!" as we do each month, each special occasion. As my own mother has done all these years. And my mind wonders to my dear blogging friend, Melanie and her sweet Andrew.

Report on Andrew
We have received a very bad report. But God.
HE is the I AM.
He is able, mighty, awesome, amazing, wonderful, beautiful, holy, creator, sustainer, redeemer, healer, Father and Designer of Brains.

PLEASE continue to intercede in faith filled prayer for a miracle for Andrew. To read more visit Melanie's blog here. Please pray for this precious family in this storm. Read more of Melanie's amazing writings there and how she is strong in her faith, how her family keeps the faith even in this dark night.

Thank God for your own blessings today. And hug your own family all the closer for we do not know what tomorrow holds but our future is in HIs hands. God Bless!

"Stay With The Ship"

"Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight. In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow. Then Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.” So the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it fall away."

Acts 27:27-32

Today's Sermon was amazing. I loved this whole lesson from Acts 27. Pastor Richard Allen Farmer spoke about the Storms that come in life. The three stages of Storms: going into a storm, in a storm and coming out of a storm. It's inevitable. He made the point they dropped the anchors and prayed for daylight. And his finale was They stayed with the Ship! He said, "I'm staying with the Ship/Jesus/Church." Get this, even in and through the Storm. Heaven awaits.

He was also funny and entertaining in his sermon and in his singing and piano playing. And he's a pilot, too. Our boys loved it. They wanted to meet him afterwards.

It's not the most popular sermon and thought process today when people like Oprah want to talk about feelings, anything goes religion, creating your own religion and god. Happiness is religion. Me is the religion of choice. So in our generation, Staying the course with Christ regardless of the Storms of life - yea, it's pretty much a foreign concept. That's probably why we really soaked it all up.

How was your Sunday? Sermon? Scripture? Have a blessed day!

Please Pray This Pray It Friday

"Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;
3 praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;
4 that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.
5 Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person." Colossians 4:2-5

Good Morning this Friday! Thanks for coming to visit and pray on this "Pray It Friday" at this virtual prayer chain. We're seeing prayers answered and we're also staying steady as we pray through some situations.

Please pray for these children and their families as they are being censored at school for their beliefs and activities. That's right, here in America. Christian Students Censored At Nashville-area School.

As Believers, the Bible tells us of times like this so it should come as no surprise. However, what a blessings these families are taking a stand. We know the things taught in the public schools and the tolerance we're all asked to have. It's such a contradiction to not let Christians have their freedoms.

Of course, it is no surprise because look at Miss California in the Miss USA pageant. She was voted against for simply stating her own belief system. Do you repeatedly notice how hostile the world is about Christianity? And true Christians and followers of Christ are not hostile. Just loving. That's Jesus.

There is always much to pray about so please leave your own link and to us at your blog so we'll join together in prayer.

Before you sign up for prayer, here's the Canvass Print Giveaway! Go ahead enter and win! :) They're gorgeous!

Good Morning Everyone, Hope you have had a dynamite week.

Thank you for your prayer requests throughout the week. And for participating here. Today, I wanted to ask for prayer for McKMama's son Stellan. It is all over the internet - yet here it is in case you haven't seen it. They are in the throes of the hospital and finding treatment right now.

Foremost, for them at this time, I thought praying for peace about God's plan and timing. And for McK Muffin as he is in PICU and seeking to have his heart "in SVT" which has to do with the rhythms.

There are other prayers - let's face it - many. So please remember to pray for the unspokens and the unknowns. Otherwise, please feel free to share your own prayer request below by linking to your own post/blog and linking here. That way we'll have the maximum number of Pray It Friday virtual prayer chain 'prayer warriors.' :)

"Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God."
Billy Graham

Welcome all to "Pray It Friday!" Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for the requests that have been made known. It has been a blessing to hear from each one as we place our home in the power of prayer.

On our little virtual prayer chain, I like to think of the verse "where two or more gathered together in my name. There am I in the midst." Amen! The Bible also states there is strength in numbers when we pray. So gather around and share with one another.

Thank you all for praying for my own request last Friday. I have to say it was encouraging to hear from each of you and know you were praying for me as I processed Angie's homegoing. And to know you were lifting up her family. Thank you.

This week a acquaintance my husband knew at work, a friend by the end, passed away of cancer. He knew he was dying too. This was heavy on Mountain Man's heart and mine this week. God is amazing in that he answered prayers that this man got to complete a trip overseas that he wanted to make before he died. And he also got to sit on the front row of the UNC Tar Heels Basketball game and meet the players just days before his illness ended his struggle to live. Please pray for M's family.

Believe me, I am happy to share any requests you send. Who knew this prayer chain would start with such serious prayer needs. Then again, Don't we so need the power of prayer in our daily lives.

Feel free to email me with any particular need or request. Here is the link-up so you should be set to link it here and at your own blog so that all may read up. Please be at liberty to share with friends who may have a prayer need.

Have an awesome weekend and God Bless!

[Here's my favorite Works For Me Wednesday Post ever. It's also one of my most recent because I've just begun the very exciting "Pray It Friday" Virtual Prayer Chain. And because Prayer Changes Things. I had to enter it into the WFMW Best of this week. Hope to see you around on Fridays for sure.}

Welcome to "Pray It Friday!" This is our virtual Prayer Chain where we will pray for each other and our requests. The power of prayer is amazing, so let's share in this together and let God work.

My heart is heavy. I didn't expect to have such a serious prayer request already - this first official week. Please join me in praying for this precious Family of Angie Petro. She went to be with the Lord yesterday after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Angie was an amazing wife, mama, and friend and more. We went to the same church. We used to teach together at the same gym, Quest Lady Fitness of Hattiesburg. I was new to it and she was a professional Kick Box Instructor and other things. She was always smiling and encouraging and she was a gorgeous lady.

You see her two darling boys. Please pray for her husband, Tony and the boys. This is a long road ahead. Praise the Lord she wanted to live the days she had for Him.

Now, here's your turn to add your link. Once you write a post on your blog, link to Pray It Friday above and then use Mr. Linky to add your URL to this post and list your blog. Then all week we'll pray for one another as folks drop by and pray. Thank you and God bless.

Virtual Prayer Chain Carnival & Extended Giveaway

Please join us....

Introducing - "Pray It Friday."

Last Friday was a big day. It was the beginning of a long-time dream and the commencing of "Pray It Friday."

"Pray It Friday" is a virtual prayer chain for the blogging community and others. Most of us who are Christians, have our own network of prayer chains. Usually, it's just a phone call away. Now, in addition, your virtual prayer chain is just a comment, email or link away.

We'll share each week prayer requests and praises of those near and dear to us. Just like as we mommybloggers enjoy sharing our latest rave review of a product or service, I want to send a wave of prayer over your requests. I'll pray over each request. Others posting will pray as they read as well.

God takes it from there. Hope you'll join us this Friday or leave your prayer request on the link above for "Pray It Friday."

In "Win It Wednesday" Giveaway news, my link on the Win It Wednesday button inadvertently retained the previous (already drawn) giveaway link (urg, double urg) sooo I am extending for three days, the lovely and generous "Educating the Whole Hearted Child" Book Giveaway until this Friday @ noon. This is an amazing book and website for families, homeschoolers and educators in general.

The Whole Heart Ministries has let me know that the Giveaway book will be republished and updated June 2009, so they are also offering a half-off coupon to the lucky winner. Stay tuned.

When you check out their site, notice that Sally Clarkson is a blogger too. She has many words and years of wisdom to share.

Remember enter here by commenting what you liked best about their website. Thanks for bearing with me and my blonde moments.

Because I believe in the power of Prayer, this totally "Works For Me Wednesday" and every day!

"Pray without ceasing." I Thessalonians 5:17

Welcome to "Pray It Friday!" And Thank You for stopping by.

This has been on my heart for some time and I am really excited that it is becoming a reality today. Every Friday, I will be hosting "Pray It Friday" here @ Carolina Mama. "Pray It Friday" is a virtual prayer chain if you will.

If you know, me you know I am an encourager.

The blogsphere has blessed so many of us at various times when those we know and love need prayer. We share, we post we pray. Now, I'd love to be your go-to blogging prayer chain.

Most of us are familiar with the term "Pay It Forward" - The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of third party beneficiary in which a creditor offers the debtor the option of "paying" the debt forward by lending it to a third person instead of paying it back to the original creditor.

Enter "Pray It Friday" where we pray for first, second or third party and they benefit from the Lord Almighty. We'll stand amazed at His hand in all of our lives. And we'll share it right here.

With all of my enthusiasim about this project, I am super eager now to begin praying and sharing. So even though I struggled with Mr. Linky until late last night.... :) I would still love to begin t.o.d.a.y - right now with our Prayer Requests.

For Now, here's what we'll do:

1) Please share your Prayer Request and any URL in comments below;
2) Please link back to "Pray It Friday" with this URL and/or the Pray It Friday cute button
3) *Please join in praying for each request as you read them.

Feel free to come back early and often to follow up each week. I am available through email: carolina mama1 @gmail dot com. And if you are a Mr. Linky wizard yourself :) please advise.

Jenieshell blessed me by kicking this off with the gorgeous "Pray It Friday" button way late last night. Go see her beautiful work. Thank You Jen! And sense I am hooked on Carnival - "Pray It Friday" - this first week - I want to add this to the Hooked on Friday carnival. So what are you hooked on - we're hooked on prayer - "Pray It Friday!"

Looking forward to hearing from you all and praying for you all. God Bless!

Praying For Kristi Walker's Family

"...precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 115:16

As Mountain Man says, "It's Valentine's Eve!" And my heart is heavy today. An amazing mother in our community has 'gone home.' Though it is exciting to visualize being in Heaven, there is much sorrow. Kristi Walker was an amazing wife, mother and friend. Honestly, I've only come to know her in her illness through mutual church friends.

Just four short months ago, once she delivered her precious third child, a son, it was discovered that her seeming pregnancy discomfort was in fact, Stage 4 cancer. That was October 2008. She leaves behind three children, ages 4, 2 and 4 months.

Even though she's in Texas, Beth Moore's daughter has more details @ Baby Bangs because Amanda did know her personally. Notice less than four months.

However, as I walk into our Church, tonight for a Valentine's Day banquet with friends, I won't be able to not think about Kristi Walker Winters. As members of the same church, most likely they would be sharing this Valentine's Eve together. I'll truly cherish the night and we'll pray really earnestly for this precious family.

Please pray for this entire family, her husband, her parents, his parents and those precious children. My Bible study leader said that they have told the children and their 4 year old said, "I just can't believe Mommy is with Jesus." What big thoughts for a little girl.

Her husband is journaling this story at Caring Pages where he said just last night that they pray for a Lazurus situation in which Christ will heal Kristi in this final hour.

Your prayers are coveted. Please leave a comment that you are praying and if you link. May the Prayer Chain go eternal.
God Bless!

It's worth repeating: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8

Pray for President-Elect Obama

Hi Friends and Followers, :)
Really you all are amazing. Thank you for your visits. I am loving all of the connections, friendships and more. And trying to get around to visit more. Thank you each for stopping by, emailing, tweeting, etc.

Today is usually my Sunday Scripture and after yesterday's Inauguration of North Carolina's Governor Bev Perdue, I got to thinking about another special Inauguration coming up very soon.

Will you join Max Lucado and me and the many, many others who are commiting to Pray for Barack Obama on Inauguration Day?! Let's pray for a stellar day and for God's hand upon our President and our Country in the days ahead.

"Pray for rulers and for all who have authority so that we can have quiet and peaceful lives full of worship and respect for God." 1 Timothy 2:2
