We all enjoyed nature around us.
The North Carolina mountains are truly splendid. We've had an amazing trip liveblogging @RiverHouseInn where you are treated as royalty. Whether you're planning a family getaway or a retreat away, River House Inn is accommodating. The amenities there are unmatched in most B & Bs even.
There there is the sheer locale. River House is just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a blast hiking there one day and even playing with these beautiful butterflies. 
Now we're settling into reality and missing our whole European Getaway right here in the North Carolina mountains. And school has begun!

Tips for the battleship, plan on staying at least two hours. There is a small boat that takes tours right beside of the battleship that would be fun for you guys also. Inside downtown there is a children's museum, and free trolley type rides that will take you all over town from the parking garage. We ate lunch at the Pink Pig, but many restaurants are delish. Have fun!!!
You even make the Blue Ridge Parkway seem charming. We zoom past it every couple of weeks. Isn't that sad?
