Fashion Friday: Lands' End Chino Challenge

We LOVE Lands' End and we Love a good Challenge.  So, we were tickled Khaki when Lands' End asked us to participate in the "Chino Challenge!"  When they asked us:

How Do YOU Chino? .... well, we had the perfect answer!

Boulder Mountain Man stepped up to the Chino Challenge.

He chose this Chino for his Fall Fashion Statement!

Lands' End Men's Plain Front Traditional Fit No Iron :) Chino
Color: Light Stone

Did you hear... "No Iron!"  Hold me!

Lands' End Chino

My husband LOVES Khakis!  And he LOVES Lands' End's quality.  They are a heavier fabric and have quality in the structure.  We loves the Light Stone and how they are so versatile.

So "how does he Chino?  Well, here you go?  He is a music buff and he plays the Piano....

This represents his Personal Style!  He and his beloved Conga Drums.  Here he is playing one at home.   He usually looks happy like
this while he makes music.  He plays in our church orchestra percussion and wears his
Chinos all.the.time!

My favorite part of how he "Chinos" is that theses "Best Seller" Lands' End Chinos are a No Iron Pant!
Hallelujah!  This makes my life.  He looks all handsome, he is comfortable and I don't have to iron to make it so.  Thank you Lands' End!

Warmly,
Carolina Mama

USS North Carolina Battleship Wilmington, North Carolina

USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington, North Carolina is a time of fun, history and exploring for the entire family.  We recently visited the U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship and were in love with it!  We loved all of the history and were surely much more thankful for our freedom and peace here in the United States of America after our visit.

"When the keel of NORTH CAROLINA was laid in October of 1937, she was the first battleship to be constructed in sixteen years. She became the first of ten fast battleships to join American fleet in World War II. NORTH CAROLINA (BB 55) and her sister ship, WASHINGTON (BB 56), comprised the NORTH CAROLINA Class. Following them were the SOUTH DAKOTA Class – SOUTH DAKOTA (BB 57), INDIANA (BB 58), MASSACHUSETTS (BB 59), and ALABAMA (BB 60) – and the IOWA Class - IOWA (BB 61), NEW JERSEY (BB 62), MISSOURI (BB 63), and WISCONSIN (BB 64).
At the time of her commissioning on 9 April 1941, she was considered the world’s greatest sea weapon. Armed with nine 16-inch/45 caliber guns in three turrets and twenty 5-inch/38 caliber guns in ten twin mounts, NORTH CAROLINA proved a formidable weapons platform. Her wartime complement consisted of 144 commissioned officers and 2,195 enlisted men, including about 100 Marines."

It was another of our any excursions with Auntie J from New Orleans! It is fabulous to explore the Ship with her because she was a History Teacher!  And her Daddy served in World War II!  Here we are about to drive over the bridge to visit her.

Isn't she beautiful!  She stands in all her glory.

Well, the Tigers felt right at home! :)  Look at them firing the missiles.

It was wonderful for them to pretend and dream of being a part of history past. :)  The ship is very hands on and very kid friendly.  The decks are spacious and open air so you can let the littles run around a bit.  They can explore.

He we are with the bi-plane. I Love any shot I can get with my sweet Tigers!

Here's lovely Auntie!

The view across to Wilmington with the American Flag is nostalgic.

History buffs. And family.  Love this shot!

Now, the boys really got to aim the missiles.  This was interesting to see how much work and energy it took to generate movement on these. Whew, what a workout.

See, Auntie J, read everything to us. She still adores History.  We loved her insight and readings.

Now, we below deck!

Someone LOVES it here!  It was amazing to imagine what it would be like to have
served on the U.S.S. North Carolina!

The found the Officer's Quarters! :)  Too fun!

Fascinating the Doctor's supplies.  Baby, we've come a long way!

What a great Chapel.  The boys noticed how small it was for this size ship!  How awesome they had it, yet, they most likely had to take turns going to Chapel.

We spent an hour and a half and then when we went to go above deck to explore at the top, on came the winds, rain and - bummer - lightning.... we had to return to the main building due to the storm.  Now, we have every reason to return with Dad, Boulder Mt. Man, and really stay oh, like 5 hours exploring to the max!

We loved the entire experience so much, we're going back for sure.  The museum portion was wonderful, there was a cafe and gift shop and mainly, there was this incredible ship.... go see the
U.S.S. North Carolina!  You'll be glad you did!

Have you explored the U.S.S. North Carolina?

Warmly,
Carolina Mama

Lazy Daze 2012 Family Fun

We just can't help ourselves... we LOVE Lazy Daze! :)

And today's perfect weather had us swooning.  We had the best time!

And it is always so fun to see so many friends throughout the Festival.

And let our kids play and have fun...

Then there is the food... oh man, I've got the boys trained!  Thank heavens.
That and us watching the Weight of the Nation DVDs.  So they were all on target
with "Dad, Mom, no wonder our country has an obesity problem...
Fried Reese's, Fried Twinkies! Fried Oreos!" Really!  And this was for real.

Our favorite is the Kettle Corn.  It is not calorie and fat free either! :)
Especially when you buy the largest bag available... however, there were four of us who
ate it.  Five if you count the lady we gave a ride to her car and we poured her some. :)
Oh, that was worth the calories in gold... Kettle Gold! :)

We walked a lot so there was a little calorie burning going on.
And a little dancing to these guys...
I loved the Hymn they sane right when we got there. Real North Carolina.
They sounded bluegrass and jazzy. Love.

Boulder Mountain Man got directions to the Kettle Corn stat. :)

I mean, this is serious business.  We found our the lovely Pirate Show
was not here this year. We LOVE them.  There was a lot of other fun though.

Convivial Cary!

Yes, we avoided this.  However, I could not avoid the temptation to snap this beauty.
Even if they taste like greece and lard, they made a great "Don't eat this" photo. :)
Well, there could be worse things than 'Homemade Chips."

I loved all of the attention to detail with the handmade krafts.

And the pretty Turtle. Love.

These festivals are so great for spotting Pinterest Art! Love this one.

Or, these hand me thinking Christmastime!

This made my day!  The Tigers found their treasure for this year. :)
They LOVED these Dragons and Snakes.

See their new best friends... :)

On, the joy.  I love that they love stuffed animals, still. And they still love
the share.

Lovebirds. :)

Love this company I discovered from Charleston, South Carolina "Charleston Soap Chef!"
Is this not awesome!  Here's the Owner!
She is selling her goods.  We talked a little and I love her product.

Then it was on to - what else - Writing things! :)
This is important y'all!  I was already planning
Christmas! :)

And getting the scoop on the best ink pads for my projects.
He was very nice.

How 'bout those Cotton Balls!  LOVE this innovative company from Richmond!

On U!  Love the creative name and these pieces were fantastic.

Tiger B LOVED meeting fellow Knitters. They talked yarn, patterns, etc.

He was so enthused to see these patterns and designs. So proud of him.

More family fun!  Here we are at the epicenter.

Remember that Kettle Corn!  Check out this hot batch! Fresh!
Dad got the largest bag of Kettle Corn and shared with us.
Everyone was happy!

It's a wonder he got any! lol

We're next!  :)

We were happy, worn out and ready to get home for lunch and
yes, the pool so the Tigers can swim laps.

The Page Walker Hotel is a National Landmark. We always love visiting here.

Awesome a Train just as we left!  Choo Choo!

Pure joy and beauty. Loved this.

And one more dip....

We truly had a blast!  This is such a fabulous North Carolina Tradition! :)
