Starbucks, I love you! iPhone, I love you!

Yes, Starbucks, my Apple and Target have teamed up to make my coffee love, mac affair and shopping joys merge in a beautiful way! Simplicity! So today when I take my son to Target for tennis shoes, I'm buying myself my favorite Starbucks drink, Skinny Misto, with my iPhone! Really!

Just when it couldn't get any better, Starbucks and Apple bring us the Starbucks Card Mobile App! Am in love with the convenience! And Starbucks helped me make money.

Once I uploaded the App and checked it out, Voila! They game me the balance on three cards that I didn't know had a balance! That's right - giving me money back. Of course, you have to have your custom Starbucks card registered with Starbucks for them to help track it for you.

Share your love of Starbucks, Apple and Target with me! :) These companies get Moms!

Technology is a beautiful thing... enter Steve Jobs and the Apple iPad - the latest tablet:

Apple iPad

SAN FRANCISCO – Apple Inc. will sell the newly unveiled tablet-style iPad starting at $499, a price tag far below the $1,000 that some analysts were expecting.
The iPad, which is larger in size but similar in design to Apple's popular iPhone, was billed by CEO Steve Jobs on Wednesday as "so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone."

Pardon me Apple, it looks like a 'large print' version of my iPhone! Seriously, isn't it cute! I wonder what kind of InCase (my case of choice for all things Apple) is needed for this tablet.

Apple beauty and function all in one... Speaking from experience, Apple does everything really well. So I personally can't wait to check it out. any questions? :)

The Evil That Lurks After Our Children

Not me! I'm not the one totally clueless at the evil that a 'simple' (data loaded) cell phone, iTouch or iPhone can cause! Not me! needing to be informed of the evil the is seeking out our children! Not me! Where you are a boy or girl mom or both! Meet Vicki Courtney...

Vicki Courtney

"The first alarm sounded when a dear friend of mine who serves on staff at a private Christian school in Florida shared that a large group of their 3rd grade boys were caught surfing a popular online portal of homemade p*rn during school hours.

Stop for a minute and think about that. Eight and nine year-old boys passing around a cell phone or iTouch to each other at the lunch table or on the school bus and getting their first exposure to s*x in the vilest form possible. How will they even begin to process what they have seen and reconcile it with God’s intended purpose for sex?

by Vicki Courtney of "Five Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter" and more.

What a sobering thought! We all know that evil loves to spread its nastiness. I'll admit, Not me! , I am not the Mom who is clueless about this evil that lurks. Not me! I am not the one who has to be given a cold stop warning like this article by Vicki Courtney. What about you - what areas are "Not Me!" areas for you? Share them here! One thing is that I will continue to read great articles of insight like Vicki Courtney and more. Where do you get your good information for protecting your children and family? Let's share resources on this great topic!

Twins Mama Managing My Time

Have you ever gotten caught up in the Day Timer game? Or should I say Day Timer Trap? It is quiet an experience. And now it is that time of year again. Is the system working. Shall we update or upgrade? What's the latest organizer? And will it really make a difference?

Well this "Works For Me Wednesday" I wanted to share my epiphany just last night at IHop having Breakfast for Dinner with "the Girls." (No we're not jumping into Senior Moments or AARP, it's just that a nice, hot breakfast being.served.to.us Mamas sounded delightful! and it was! So much so that we're heading back next month!)

At any rate, I realized that I use my Organizer. I am a "Mom Agenda" fan and I am a Day Runner fan. And yet how often do I not feel like clunking around my planner... enter iPhone's iTouch! and Carolina Mama is one happy mommyblogger and everything else for that matter.

We were all planning our next soiree when one of the girls pulled out her iPhone to actually use the Calendar feature when it dawned on me why haven't I even tried out the feature.

Voila! Simple, as in EZ, and I loved hearing my alarms that I set go off today prior to my engagements. Very user friendly. With a high return on satisfaction!

I'd say this truly works for me Wednesday and everyday of next year if my plan continues.

Get you one and you won't be disappointed! :) Oh and that's not even talking about all the other awesome features available. Now for good measure, please share with me what you use for time management.

Swimming, Apple and iPhone 3G

You see we're real creative here in the Carolinas. Swim, swim and then swim. It is summer ya know. So it's all good. We made it through the two weeks of swim lessons. More than make it through - the Tigers did really well. And I remembered why we signed up for more to begin with this summer.

We have had perfect 'excuses' to hang out at the pool for the better part of the morning until something more pressing appeared on the schedule - lunch and a trip to the Apple Store.

Yesterday, I was in the Apple Store and the Apple Guru, a young whipper snapper, smiled and looked at me saying, "You got the red case, the Monkey case" referring to my Red Monkey iTouch case.

Though I was very pleased and proud of my purchase which considered the Cherubs, not my love of pink and daisys. I was happy to admit my love of my little Red Monkey Incase for my iTouch. I detected a jaded salesperson Apple Guru poking fun.

So I simply said, "yes, my little monkeys at home love it."

To which Apple Guru says, "Did you see that segment about the people raising monkeys at home."

(you see where I'm going here... any mama sees where I'm going here.)

So I jovially say, "We raise monkeys at home. In fact, we breed them!" As the young guru laughs, I say "In twos!"

'Tis true!

Speaking of, just so ya know, tomorrow is THE DAY that Apple releases the very lovely iPhone 3G "Twice as fast, half the price." Wonder what the Monkeys will of think it! Go check it out here. iPhone3G.
