Soccer, Tennis, Swim, Basketball, Space Camp Mom

Unintentionally, this Summer looks like it will be remembered as the Summer of Camps. Soccer, Tennis, Swim, Basketball, Space Camps. So much so that yesterday as I made my morning order at Starbucks, the Barista said, "'Soccer Mom' needs her coffee." Just how did he know I was "Soccer Mom" 'this week.' :) Just for good measure, as I circled around to pay and receive the goods, I held the three soccer balls that were in my "Soccer Mom Mobile.' It was a good laugh and way to start our day.

Mix in family visiting us, another grown up, college graduated nephew getting married we'll travel to attend, beach vacation and when its said and done, "Well need a summer vacation from Summer." Moms of older children, please dispel the myth and tell me that this is not typical. Although, I do know things get busier as they get older, we've relished in the fact that we do not 'have' to be busy right now.

Through all this activity one constant has been our friend "The Pool." We've come back to him often and early. We've received welcoming arms and much love from him. For us, this Hooked on Fridays - we're hooked on Pools. Even Camp Mom is hooked on pools - not any pools just luxury pools! What are you hooked on today? Look forward to your answers and have an awesome Weekend!

Tennis Camp At RDU Tennis

Here are the Tigers with their Tennis Coaches from this week's Tennis Camp @ RDU Tennis. It was an awesome week for the boys. Here is the Coach Moe. He was great with the children.

RDU Tennis was great: lots of exercise time, lots of game time, running, Tennis of course, swimming, lunch, and more fun! Yes, I am including the link so you can check out the many camps they offer in North Carolina.

Here are the boys 'settling in' before a big day.
Hanging of the rackets ;) I remember doing this when I was in tennis lessons when I was younger. There were five rackets then - just my siblings and me. Our own "tennis camp" of sorts. :)

Coach Josh before the start of their fourth day of Camp.

More Coach goodness Kevin and his brother... with the TIgers.

After a full week of Tennis Camp. This was the look in the car on the way home listening to Veggie Tales "Hailey & Bailey" with their furry friends, Pooh and Mary Jane!

And one Happy Carolina Mama to have my boys back after a busy second week of Summer!
Happy Mama

That's a wrap on this week. So far we've had an active summer with our beach trip week one and tennis camp week two. We're enjoying every minute of it. Now, we're heading out for a family bike ride on the American Tobacco Trail. And a Graduation Party tonight of a dear friend. Family, fun and faith. That sums it up. What's your summer looking like? Your weekend? See ya soon.

Tennis Time

Spring is trying to "spring." We're looking for the sun. And soaking up the ... rain. That's okay because we know Carolina Blue will shine through soon. And we will soon have warm days for a long time. Thank heavens.

With Spring comes the fun. As soon as March Madness is over, it will be fun like swimming, biking and tennis. It's time to open up the garage and pull out the goggles, bikes and tennis balls. Speaking of which, this Works For Me Wednesday I want to share my Tennis Time Tip!

Check out these lovely Tennis Balls:

Tennis Balls - the Penn T.I.P.

It's our glorious discovery for children's tennis. If you have already discovered this, don't tell me. Just let me enjoy the wonder of discovery.

Lucky me, I found a place where I can stock up on these with the best prices. Forget about swinging by Target on the way to the Tennis Courts. whew. That is no fun. Just when The Tigers, Mountain Man and I are all geared up mentally and physically to play tennis and then oops, we need to run and get more tennis balls. No more! Voila TennisPlaza.

"The Penn T.I.P. 1 Tennis Ball is a useful ball in helping children and adults learn the basics of tennis. The unique weight, design, and composition of the ball helps players transition into using a standard tennis ball. The decreased ball speed yet consistent and predictable bounce help players learn to serve and volley."

So true! The Tigers l.o.v.e these tennis balls and Carolina Mama loves them even more. Great Tennis was had by all and we're looking to do this again this year. I just need three or two dozen. How about you? Tennis anyone? What is your favorite brand tennis ball? Are you ready for Spring activity!

Tigers and Tennis Camp

Tennis Camp went well! Private camp - with Mama Coach went surprisingly well. Even with Adult Racquet's! The Tigers are somewhere in between the Junior Racquet's I just purchased and my, yes my, Over sized Prince which I love.

I am really jazzed about the balls for beginners that I found. The density is set so that the ball can be hit appropriately while learning and not swing off to the next state. Sounds like I wouldn't mind just playing with these.

The boys loved playing with the drills I had learned at my private tennis lessons years ago. It is funny how they think like multiples. I try to focus in on individual instruction and they do so much better when I talk 'in group' to them. So I resorted to my lesson days. My Daddy would be proud. The boys loved it were asking again today.

They were very enthusiastic, it is just the photo shoot afterwards was not top of the list.

So with the new Junior Racquet's, we'll be playing more tennis Friday and/or Saturday.

We do have a "play date" planned for tomorrow - this one a double - friends with a boy and girl 7 and 9. Gracious friends, two on two. Ahhh, no tears of being left out. (yet. ;)
