12th Anniversary

Our dreams are only big enough when they include a miracle …” -unknown

Twelve years ago today, we never dreamed this paradise!   Each Anniversary - we smile and say five years from now... - each milestone surpasses the last. We thank God for that and each other.

A Marriage Conference

This past weekend was very exciting...

This past weekend, not only did I celebrate another great year/birthday, Mountain Man and I got to attend an awesome Marriage Conference by Tim and Joy Downs of Family Life. The Downs has authored a whole host of books including the ones above that look great. They also gave these as door prizes at the Conference.

We had sessions together and then the men and the women separated for our own sessions. We had some big laughs and some somber moments listening to this amazing couple share about building a strong Christian marriage and family. We were also blessed to spend the weekend with out dynamite couples from our church and community.

They take work. Yes, I just said that - work. Good ole fashioned work just like our bodies need a workout, our gardens need tending, and our favorite recipe needs stirring.

After ten and a half years of marriage, we loved spending this weekend focusing on each other. Then the culmination was ideal as we all got together Saturday afternoon to celebrate Carolina Mama's birthday together.

'Tis true indeed - life is good and God is great. And I am very thankful.

Have you been to a Marriage Conference lately? Tell me about it. What type? Topic? etc. Have a blessed Sunday!

NC Judge, Family and Prayer

Focus on the Family

Happy Spring Y'all! Spring is another wonderful thing about the South. Hope you all are enjoying.

You've asked about the "North Carolina Judge ordering children of a bitter divorce to attend public school." Currently, they are homeschooled.

Here's what I would like to say. This leaves a great need for prayer for this family. Clearly, the children are caught in the middle of a 'bitter/nasty divorce.' Lets add this situation to our "Pray It Friday" Virtual Prayer Chain.

Regardless of where these children are schooled in the fall, the entire family needs lifting up. So often divorce and the drama that ensues is commonplace in our society. Everyone suffers, each adult and each child. God intended families to stay together. And to be happy and thrive together.

With Christ, they/we can. While we are focusing on the family I wanted to ask prayer for one of the largest supporters of family known to mankind - "Focus on the Family" .

Let's pray for Focus on the Family and the many families they encourage and support. And Marriage. Rather than tear down the family and the sanctity of marriage, they build it up everyday with their website and articles and resources available to everyone. And if you or someone you know is in need of family advice or counseling - Need family help? Call (800) A-FAMILY (232-6459).

Please share what is on your heart this week. Feel free to leave your link below and link your readers here in your own post so we can spread the Pray It Friday virtual prayer chain. Because we know Prayer Matters.

Fireproof Rocks! and Good Marriage Stuff!

My Twitterific last night read just this: "Fireproof Rocks!"

Ya'll it was one awesome Marriage movie! Faith and a whole lot of little lessons. It was so well done. This church in Georgia is quite amazing. As of last night, it was ranked No. 4 again. That is against movies that are showing in every theatre. This movie is only in some theatres.

It's awesome! Have you seen it? "The Love Dare" is due in bookstores 2009.
