Recently, my husband and I had the good fortune to work together out-of-town simultaneously.
Funny, right! Well, it was fun! The whole family had a grand time. It was great to coordinate our trips and go up early for his work conference. We love the Triad particularly since my mother's native home is Greensboro.
The Winston-Salem Tourism and Visitor's Bureau invited us to Mozelle's and it couldn't have been more perfect. We already had plans to visit our former Boulder, Colorado Pastor and his wife, who are now in Winston-Salem where he
Pastor's the First Presbyterian Church of downtown Winston-Salem. Now, we had the perfect lunch locale! Mozelle's is four minutes from First Pres. We had the best fortune that our friends were in town and he was speaking that same Sunday. After all, it is Summer. The weather cooperated and it was a beautiful Summer day.
Here's Mozelle's!
It is truly like she looks, bright, cheerful and beautiful. And, best of all, tasty!
Many enjoyed the outdoor dining and took in the ambiance outdoors.
Greetings from Mozelle's. At Mozelle's, you get the feeling you are in Europe on one of the many sidewalk Cafes and fine dining restaurants, all at once.
We loved the attention to details at Mozelle's. The fresh flowers made for an elegant Brunch.
The beauty was relaxing and captivating.
Then, the Mozelle's Sunday Brunch Menu was outstanding. The variety of fresh items had us all challenged with ordering. Everything sounds great. We found out, it was!
The Classic Fried Pickles! I have to confess, this was a first for us! We were tentative and they were lovely! They were light and wonderful with the spicy sauce. You have to try them!

The Southern Spring Rolls were beautiful and tasty with pulled pork, shiitakes, napa cabbage and the collards! The side sauce of Sesame Ginger was a perfect accompaniment.
We even had a few extra minutes for some serious reading and games for our guys. We spent a lot of time at Mozelle's. It is a wonderful place to relax and visit and enjoy.
Our son even caught us right as we got seated. All smiles and eager to try the Mozelle's cuisine.
Now, it was time to explore the expansive menu. It was so fun that we all tried different entrees. Almost. There was a repeat on their famous Tomato Pie! Not a bite was left. Now, on to the choices for our Sunday Brunch.
Gourmet Meatloaf with bacon-wrapped, havarti, marmalade, spicy collards with cheese grits. Fabulous. As our Pastor said, the bacon. Everything is better when bacon is involved. This is basically a meal for three! The Collards were perfection! Yes, this is coming from a Southern girl. Again, the creamy grits were the best.

We also have our Cheeseburger Connoisseur. He gave a 5 star to the
Cheeseburger and the Truffle Fries. He shared a few with everyone so we understood. :)
The Firecracker Salmon Salad was delicious. Again, there was the most unique dressing that was perfect with the salad. The Firecracker Fresh Salmon Salad with baby greens, soba
noodles + spicy cucumber kim
cheese.
Tomato Pie with vine-ripened tomatoes, cheese, herbs in a hand-rolled crust with cheese grits. This dish looked amazing. I really had to refrain myself from ordering another entree when he set the Tomato Pies down, one in front of our Pastor and and one in front his wife. Clearly, they knew how this Winston-Salem ordering should go down. :) They loved it! I also put my Southern Girl manners into practice and decided to control myself from leaning over with my fork to try it out! Now, I know what I am ordering next time we're at Mozelle's. They both gave the Tomato Pie a 5 star, as well. They left with empty plates and a new favorite.

My son and I have this love of Southern Shrimp and Grits. So, he immediately chose the Mozelle's Shrimp and Grits. He LOVED it. No question.

Shrimp and Grits were fabulous with shrimp, prosciutto, pepper medley in a cream sauce with stone ground cheese grits. Yes, the cheese grits were a big deal. Well, they ARE a big deal in the South and especially at places like Mozelle's where they were delicious and the perfect texture.
You will want to visit Mozelle's yourself. Take a friend, family, co-workers. I think it is ideal for a date night, coffee and dessert or, like us, a great get together with friends over great Southern food!
