"Slave-the Hidden Truth about your Identity In Christ" by Dr. John MacArthur
Starting the year off with the "Life Changer" book, "Slave - the Hidden Truth about your Identity in Christ!" by John MacArthur This book is so well written and the truths are life changers. I'll quote the book through out.
"We have been bought with a price. We belong to Christ. We are His own possession."
Learning what a privilege it is to be Slaves to Christ rather than Slaves to sin. whew. That's freeing! The world looks down on the notion of living our lives for another.
"That God, and His grace, would free us from sin and make us His slaves is a wondrous truth to comprehend. What a privilege for is to know and obey the Heavenly Master!"
In our world, we are taught to build ourselves up above others. In Slaves, we can focus on giving back and serving Christ the one who set us free. I am no longer bound to this way of thinking. I don't answer to the world. As a Believer, I want to be an example and live above reproach. However, my Master is my Lord.
"We are all, now, the slaves of Christ, called to obey Him and to follow in His example of love and self-sacrifice. Consequently, we can serve one another in humility and gladness, no matter our ethnic, or socioeconomic differences, knowing that we are all accountable to the same Heavenly Master!"
I loved the Chapter "The Riches of the Paradox" where MacArthur discusses the Bible's paradoxical truths. "Salvation is free and costly. To be truly rich, one must be poor in spirit. Scripture teaches that those who mourn will be comforted; those who give will receive... God uses evil for good. He is three yet one. Slavery has been gloriously transformed, in Christ, to signify honor, liberty, and eternal bliss!"
Are you hungry to read Slaves? And to learn more about this life of belonging to Christ? I highly recommend it. The author says it best. Check it out and God bless your journey in Christ.

"In Christ Alone!" by Keith and Kristyn Getty
They are so awesome! I've written it before and you can check them out. They are from Ireland and now live in Nashville! And they are expecting their first child soon. It has been fun to see them in concert at our church twice and to follow their journey almost four years now.
Join us as part of their fan club on their Facebook Page.
And enjoy the video of Kristyn singing "In Christ Alone" live:
Enjoy the lyrics as well:
In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
'Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

Raleigh, NC Named in Top 10 Most Popular Cities for College Grads
Raleigh, NC
This makes sense when you realize a mighty 42% of residents have a college degree. Now that's some education. The Triangle, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, NC, offers a large variety of great schools to chose from when it comes to Medical School or Grad School as well.
For all the gaffe the South gets about education, 6 out of 10 of the Top Cities are in the Southeast specifically. Raleigh, North Carolina is one loved city.
Texas stood tall with three cities in the Top 5 including Austin, Dallas and Houston, numbers 1, 2, and 5, respectively. And that's respectfully too. What an educated state! Mountain Man will be proud, his paternal roots hale to Texas. His Grandparents both had Masters degrees.
Other Top 10 Cities included Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, Tampa and the lone California's Riverside.
No Northern cities were listed. Just sayin'! Even though all the educated folks are not just from the South, they know it is the best place to be.
What you? What's your Top City? Top City for Education? Or other interests?

So not pounds or inches of loss to report. I will check in officially tomorrow at Weight Watchers. Love my WW Meetings. Has any one seen the new WW commercial? Jennifer Hudson is leading the way!
However, I am in the game and still loving my weekly Pilates classes! Amazing indeed!
What are you doing to stay fit? Have a fabulous week!
