Good friends....

OneMomsWorld and "M" and I got to be spoiled, go for Starbucks, enjoy girl time. The dads really did their part including watching over the children not feeling so well, taking some for hair cuts, these guys made it happen! Thank you honey!

Good hearts... good chocolate...!

Sunday Interview: Author of "Read For The Heart"

This weekend at the Mom Heart Conference Raleigh, North Carolina, I got to take a few minutes to interview Sarah Clarkson, Author and Speaker.

We talked about her new book, "Read For The Heart." Sarah has a love for books and knowledge. It was refreshing to meet a young person who is in love with words. And she has a passion for sharing her knowledge with others.

You can follow Sarah on her website at Story Formed. Again, her mother is the formidable Sally Clarkson of I Take Joy and Whole Heart Ministries.

There seems to be a theme here: The take away for me and it has been on my own heart lately - What am I doing that I can leave as a legacy? Family. My Children. There is a whole lot more to it for each of us. For me, it means something outside of myself. Something beyond products and consumerism. Something more than as our former pastor, Jeff Clark, says, "Something besides someone always serving me!" You can check out his amazing sermon on "The Gospel According to Wall Street" here.

"How do you become rich in good deeds?! Pre-determine how much you are going to give away!" Jeff Clark @church 2 Cor. 9:6

Have a blessed Sunday! Edited into "Works For Me Wednesday!" because Reading works for all of us! Follow more Whole Heart Ministries.

North Carolina Homeschool Moms Conference

2010 is shaping up nicely! And I have something exciting to share with you. In March, March 12, 2010, there will be an awesome Mom Heart Conference.

"Hearing the best of God's heart for Motherhood!" by Sally Clarkson

Whole Heart Conference, Raleigh, North Carolina

Love Sally Clarkson's "I Take Joy" blog. There are so many wonderful topics there. She shares about family, faith and her heart for homeschooling and moms in general. Check her out. And plan to see her in person this March.

Believe me, there are so many calls and demands upon moms in today's society. It is refreshing and encouraging to meet a mom who encourages us to serve our families. Raise our children as unto the Lord. And more.

Will you attend the Conference? Check out her books and resources at the very least.

Sunday Scripture - Have a Blessed Day!

Hope you all are enjoying a great Sunday. This weekend I wanted to share the blog of an amazing Author, Mom, Teacher and more, I Take Joy by Sally Clarkson..

Please check out Sally's article here: "There Are Giants In the Land..." This applies to so many areas of our lives as Christians. Check out her website and the many books she has written on encouraging the hearts of Mothers.

Just so you know, their daughter, Sarah Clarkson @ Itinerant Idealist is very talented and intelligent and has her first book coming out this Spring.

This weekend I was blessed to attend the Whole Heart Retreat that they lead and it was amazing. My girlfriend and I giggled about the two points that we so furiously wrote down: Be excellent, be the excellence in your home and Change the World. It was easy to write down yet, we wondered if it could be so easy to do just that what a wonderful world. That is the power of the cross to trust Jesus to do what He wants accomplished through us.

I did laugh when my girlfriend looked at me right after we wrote down, "Be the excellence in your home!" And she said, "Scary." :) True, If it's just me, then yes, scary and yet with Jesus, not scary at all.

So as Sally quoted in her article about Facing the Giants, it applies to our mothering with excellence:

"Now, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.,..., Without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11: 1, 6

God Bless.
