Fall With My Pumpkins

Lovely Fall day with the Tigers! NC Farmer's Market is awesome and full of local finds like ... Honey honey... NC Honey !  This is the best honey around!  Tart Farms makes it and it has the honeycomb in the honey.  So tasty.  This makes me want to bake Honey Ham?  Or Honey Baked Ham!  Anyway, we love honey in our hot tea.  Now, I want to put it in everything. :)

The lady from the farm said you can chew the honeycomb.  We tried it.  How cool!  It was like a honey flavored piece of gum.  Loved it!  Then it was on to smashing pumpkins ... ha!  On to the pumpkin patch!  NC has some awesome pumpkins.

It was so hard to chose.  We made an adorable arrangement on our front lawn and are embracing all things Fall!  Are you?!  What are your favorite things for Fall?

1st Place At The Corn Maze

Oh, my goodness what a blast at the Green Acres Farm! They have everything!

Hay Rides, Tractors, John Deer galore! Pumpkins, Hot Dogs/Hamburgers, Cows to Feed, Cow Milking Simulation that the kids loved! Tons of Hay for the kids to play in with tunnels, and towers of Hay.... The Corn Maze alone was awesome! And the Rope Maze and did I say, "the Hay!"

My Tigers loved it all!

North Carolina Fall Apples, Pumpkins and A Corn Maze

Happy October! We are loving the cooler Fall weather here. We love Apples, too!

We're planning a field trip to one of these Apple Orchards!

And to a very cool Corn Maze @ Green Acres. They even have Christmas Wreaths if your want to get ready!

We've got lots of opportunity for these things as we are having floor restoration - our hardwood floors in our kitchen restored. So stay tuned for "how she does it" with the 'restorers' taking over! :) I'd say it is perfect timing with all of these activities on the plate.

Halloween Harvest And When DO You Carve Your Pumpkins?

Happy Halloween! Here's our front porch - not so- yet. It is "our" Southern Living front porch on my mac. :) Y'all know what, we usually carve our pumpkins on Halloween Night. I don't know if that is a reality of living in the Deep South or just a family tradition. You know I still wanted to play along with all my "'Bring Your Own Pumpkin!!" so love me anyway... I am truly Southern, and we do tend to get 'stuck' doing things 'our way.'

We just never carved them early. I think for those "inards" reasons. Anyway, one more what "I Learned From Blogging" - I mean who know - carve the pumpkin the night before Halloween. Well, wait a minute, where's the book, you know, "'T'was the night before Halloween...." I mean we must be the only people on the planet to carve our pumpkins on Halloween night.

And hey, what a revelation, because do you know the nights we're hustlling to get that candle lit and get Jack on the porch before the first little darlings ring the bell.

Fall Sights and Sounds Are All Around

Love Fall. Being raised in the Deep South, I don't recall the coolness of Fall. As an adult, it is so fun to enjoy the seasons. Here is a little glimpse of ours. This week, I am enjoying the little things in life. Sometimes the little things are big things, my family, the boys running through the leaves in the yard with their Tonka trucks. The smell of pumpkin spice from my new candle. The uncontrollable laughter of our children, brothers, twins sons, as they grow up right here and now a little bit each day. The joy of my family surrounding the table for a meal together. Joy in the everyday. I love the idea that today is a gift - the present.

May you have a joy filled day with your own sights and sounds of fall.
