Atlas International School Raleigh Premier Preschool - 9th Grade

Raleigh, North Carolina offers private school, Atlas International School for PreK through 9th grade. Atlas offers foreign languages and music lessons. Atlas is a private, part-day, parent-cooperative school. Atlas is for students with families and caregivers that want to be involved with their child's education. Atlas offers Fridays as an alternate day to homeschool, travel or be off of school. Atlas has a short day, short week and short year and Atlas meets the North Carolina education requirements and is approved to transfer or graduate to other local schools.

Atlas International School is a preschool, elementary, middle school and 9th Grade. The student to teacher ratio at Atlas is 6 to 1 for all grades.

Some students need a 6 to 1 student to teacher ratio to thrive. Some students need to be outdoors for regular recess and activity. Some students execrate with healthy food for lunch.

Then, Atlas is for your child.

Atlas is an international curriculum that includes foreign languages (Spanish and French) and music (violin and piano). Atlas stresses the healthy child, providing our students with two recesses a day and allowing only healthy foods for lunch. Atlas is fully approved by the state of North Carolina and all records are transferable.

Atlas is a fun, exciting and educational place for our students. See, we have Super Heroes in Action.

Atlas International School is a parent-cooperative school whereby parents agree to actively help with homework each night. Atlas meets for a shorter day than most schools (9:30 to 2:00 or 9:30 to 2:30), thereby giving your child more time to pursue individual interests. Before-school and after-school programs are provided for elementary and middle school students.

Atlas has a educational programs and events like the Science Fair shown here. This a board from one of our students.

Atlas easily covers the full curriculum required, because of the low student/teacher ratio and the parent involvement. Every year, our third and sixth graders take the End of Grade tests and most score well above average."

Atlas has wonderful school clubs, activities and field trips. Recently, Atlas hosted local Children's Author, Seth Davey of Stories by Seth Davey. Seth loved reading to the children and the feeling was mutual. The children loved listening to Seth read, talking to Seth and asking questions about being an Author.

Author, Seth Davey of Writings by Seth reads to Atlas students.

Feel free to call Atlas for a Tour or for more information at 919-623-2323. Email for information at info@atlasinternationalschool.com. The Atlas Kindergarten cut-off date is November 17.

You can follow Atlas International School on Facebook.

Warmly, Carolina Mama

The Makery NC - Handmade, Fashion, and NC

Welcome to an exciting Guest Post by Krista Anne of The Makery NC. She tells you all about this remarkable North Carolina business with her sisters. Just another reason I wanted to support these three, I have three sisters! And this is some awesome Friday Fashion. Welcome Krista Anne and The Sister Team.

The Makery NC
Any of you who have a sister (or are a sister yourself), you know that relationship to be one of the most wonderful, and at times, the most complicated, relationships there are. You can also probably imagine how exciting it would be to join forces with your sisters on a project that you all deeply believe in.

This year, my sisters and I have found our dream project!

Born and raised in Durham, the three of us came of age in the eighties and nineties - a time of significant growth and change for “The Triangle.” Being blessed with two creative parents, we were brought up amidst much creativity and enthusiasm, and also developed deep ties with and love for our community.

We have gone on to do a lot of different things; in the past few years the sisters have lived in Sweden, Italy, California, Massachusetts, and Illinois! We have worked as nannies, writers, waitresses and tweeters. But after our adventures, we realized some things were missing - our home and our families!

Last Christmas as we gathered together at our parent’s in South Durham, we came up with this idea we became totally excited about. One of the things we love most about our NC community is how talented and passionate our fellow Tar Heels are. We are surrounded by artists and craftspeople devoted to making wonderful, well designed, handmade things. As admirers of those great handmade products, we decided to help connect you with the talented makers living in North Carolina. We’re calling this project The Makery.

The Makery will be an online private sales venue for NC crafts and art – a marriage between e-commerce and shopping local. The basic premise of the business is that each week, 1-3 handmade products will be featured (via email & social media) at a slight discount from what can be found on the artists’ shops or Etsy stores.

We hope that The Makery will become a creatively supportive force in the wider artistic community, and will help to connect makers with shoppers who value the talent and care they put into their handmade items, as well as exposing art-and-craft-lovers to new artists that they didn’t know about.

Check out our blog or email us at sisters@themakerync.com. We’d love to hear from you, and from your sisters!

Viva La North Carolina!
Krista Anne and the Sister Team

Thank you Krista Anne and The Sister Team for sharing with us. Okay, readers, do you shop handmade and NC? We love to do so as often as possible.

Warmly, Carolina Mama

*When The Makery NC asked to Guest Post, they had me at Homemade and NC. I want to share handmade items and North Carolina companies.  Let's support others in our state.

Shadeleaf Studios Raleigh / Durham, North Carolina - Best Photography for Holiday and More

Family Christmas Cards are one of my favorite things about Christmastime!   We LOVED our session with Shallyse of ShadeLeaf Studios here in North Carolina.  Look at this awesome pictures and fun she captured with our family!  Too fun!

This really depicts our family:  A Volleyball, Basketball, and Football and Mom with her Fashion Ear Rings!  This was totally impromptu.  And it worked.  Shallyse totally gets your family in your element.

Then she got the Tigers and Me!  Love this.  They were so excited.

love what  she can do  with pictures

 These are Timeless beauty.

Love this of my Prince!  So perfectly relaxed and smiling, life is good!

You have most likely seen this one around, too! :)

She is patient and creative in her approach and ideas!

Profiles and candid smiles are Shallyse's specialty.

You may have seen these around my social networks.  This became my LinkedIn photo in a more professional way.  This tint is more year round has has been great for my profiles.

This one has been fun for Christmas Cheer!

Here she had us so relaxed, I think it shows the love of our family in such a priceless way.

She captured my love and me in a picture frame.  All of her work is so natural.  And look at her studio. We have had several friends want to have our props or rather, Shallyse's props.

Check out more of Shallyse's great work at ShadeLeaf Studios Facebook Page.  You'll be hooked!

Warmly, Carolina Mama
