Breath of Heaven - Merry Christmas

It's Christmas Eve and this song, "Breath of Heaven" by Amy Grant really caught my attention at the Christmas Eve Service tonight. I remember getting a Gift Book CD the year it came out. Now, listening to it as a Mother - it has a completely different meaning.

You remember how music moves my soul..... Tonight continued the tradition. Expectantly, O Holy Night made me cry. And I can't help it, I love it that much.

Unexpectedly, "Breath of Heaven" took my breath away. As I sat surrounded by my precious husband and boys and a church family that shows me heaven this side of earth, I was overcome by the words of Mary in Breath of Heaven.

Because I feel this every day. I feel like Mary... saying... "hold me together!"

There's no comparison to Mary the mother of Jesus and yet I feel her words most days, "I am frightened
by the load I bear." It's a strange revere I have for parenting these boys. And this song put it into words for me. 'Be forever near me!"

Here's wishing you all the wonderful wonders of this Christmas day. Merry Christmas to each and every one. You know I get nostalgic and love thinking about what a phenomenal year this has been. I'll save some of my reminiscing for New Years!

...One of the nights they were ‘distracted,’ our worship pastor stepped in to talk with the children’s choir about the performance, our guys got so tickled they rolled on the floor laughing. Daddy was playing with the worship band that night so when the music pastor returned to the choir and worship team, he relayed that he didn’t know what we did at home but our family must really have a good time....

Win It Wednesday Giveaway - Great Music

We love great music in our home! Mountain Man and I love classical, jazz, and we really love all of the options for awesome Christian Contemporary music these days.

"These days" meaning - do you remember in the early 90s how few choices we really had for good Christian Contemporary music? We love all of the great options now. And Getty Music has become one of our recent favorites. The Tigers are old enough now that they really enjoy it as well. It blesses us and is refreshing all at once.

Honestly, I can't believe in my 20s when I was single that most of the music I heard was radio music and it wasn't KLUV. It is an encouragement to be as a believer to be in this mindset with worship music in my car, iPod, home, etc.
