Shabby Apple Review - Mom Fashion

New Year's Eve found me dressed up fancy and ready to step out with my dashing husband and precious twin sons for a little family celebration.  My husband told me he loved my dress and that I looked fabulous....

Then he paused at our dresser and picked up the tag... "wow" and then he said, "You know that your dress supports a 35 year old widow, living in India.  Hey, look she has a son and a daughter."

This literally brought tears to my eyes.  Here I was ready to go out on a fancy splurge and celebrate a great New Year in the USA while a micro-loan of $89 changed this widow's life!  She said, "I am now confident I can take care of my children and provide them with a quality education. This is my life ambition."

How phenomenal!  I was moved by such a passionate company.  Shabby Apple helps bring these life-changing micro-loans to world's poor."   This makes me want to buy my wardrobe from them for more reasons than my love of the dresses.

This Southern girl loves Fashion and she also adores a pretty dress.  My Mama raised me right - she always had adorable dresses for my sisters and me.  Often the four of us would have matching clothes. that.my.Mother.made!  She's amazing like that!

So my love of dresses is alive and well now.  (and rumor has it my love of Apple is just as robust! :) Seriously, I love a pretty feminine dress.  And I was over the moon when I was introduced to these amazing unique Women's Dresses at the Shabby Apple.   These dresses are awesome sauce because they are fun, and feminine and generous in size.  My dress of choice was this Spanish Steps:

I LOVE it!  The neutral crew neck top, the full sateen floral skirt make this one piece
Elegant. It was perfect for NewYear's Eve!  Isn't this classic? Perfect with pearls.

My boys adored it too.  Here we are by the fireplace. :)  This dress was perfect to ring in the New Year
in Fashion.  Cheers 2012!

"Some things are just better together: peanut butter and chocolate, Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, Rome and Vespas.  We decided to pair two things we love—the soft, cotton jersey of our favorite t-shirt, and the gorgeous sateen of the dresses of yesteryear—to create the Spanish Steps, an indispensably comfortable-yet-elegant summer frock.  A luxe jersey cap sleeve top is gathered at the waist with a wide satin sash, and a veritable bouquet of appliquéd, ruched flowers and leaves adorns the full sateen skirt."

This dress is all that and more.  I chose this as my New Year's Eve party dress!
It was PERFECT.  Can I say that all three of my guys, individually, told me how much they loved it.  (Happy face!)

As a Mom, I am weary of the skimpy and cheap dresses out there.  There is nothing worse than a dress being so skimpy it looks like a junior dress on a regular size adult Mom.  The dresses are generously cut in sizing as well.  Yet they are beautiful and the quality was remarkable.

Here is how they describe it and it applies completely:

"A return to what dresses were always meant to be — a one-piece outfit. No need to add anything...no tank tops, no cardigans, nothing (except accessories, "of course!).

I was very pleased with the quality of fabric, pattern, style and the sewing.  Also, I love that Shabby Apple has this as their Mission Statement:

"Because serving women and families is a core value at Shabby Apple, we devote a certain percentage of our net proceeds to charitable causes serving women and children."
