Netflix for All of Your Holiday Shows Veggie Tales

This whole NetFlix Stream Team is awesome! We are loving streaming on Netflix. We have the iPad Mini and the Mac and enjoy the shows. Our favorite thing now is Veggie Tales Netflix streaming.  This includes "It's a Meaningful Life." We love this one.

We have been huge Veggie Tales fans for a while now and we love this access on Netflix.

Then we caught up with the times and watched "Catching Fire" from the Hunger Games on Netflix. It was so nice to watch from home. We are getting into this century. LOL We had not seen it so it was fun to watch together at home. And since I am Hunger Games clueless, I was able to have the whole family pause and explain everything to me. Or, to just take a break from the Hunger Games craziness.

Netflix has great streaming for Catching Fire.

We love Netflix and I LOVE that you can set your accounts for Kids and Parents. Although, in our home the adults mostly watch kids shows with our kids. :)

Check out Netflix and let me know your thoughts. Do you Netflix stream? I am loving the #netflixstreamteam

Then, when Thanksgiving is over, we will move into the Muppets Christmas Carol!

Thanks so much Netflix! We love it. And Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Bonefish Grill Sunday Brunch Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Bonefish Grill Sunday Brunch Hilton Head Island, South Carolina was wonderful. We loved having a leisurely Sunday Brunch! We stayed at the lovely Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort. Bonefish was close by and convenient. We loved the Sunday Brunch.

Bonefish is opening for Black Friday Brunch.

"Since Black Friday shoppers need their fuel and we’ll be offering our Brunch through the Black Friday weekend. From late night excursions to early morning bargain hunting, shoppers will now be given the opportunity to refuel with Bonefish Grill’s beloved brunch. Usually only served on Sundays, Bonefish Grill’s brunch menu offers twists to classic like Crème Brulee French Toast and Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict.

Back to our visit, we had the best time at Sunday Brunch. One of our sons had a 1/2 .lb American Kobe Hamburger with Eggs and Bacon! Loved it! Ate it!

We had fun with the boys and this is a picture they took.

Here we all are! We ordered Bang Bang Shrimp for appetizer with Bonefish signature Bread and Pesto Olive Oil. Amazing!

The best appetizer!! Bang Bang Shrimp!

This is not your ordinary brunch - this is Bonefish Grill Sunday Brunch.

My husband's incredible Eggs Benedict with Spicy Shrimp and Potatoes Au Gratin.
We always trade bites and it was SO good!

This is what we look like at brunch. :) We love when the boys read and draw! ;) The food came in a timely manner and with a nice pace between appetizer and meal!

My favorite thing was my meal! Goats cheese and Cajun Shrimp with Peppers! Steamed Asparagus.

Look at this amazing meal on the Bonefish website!

Another favorite is the Ahi Tuna! It is so flavorful and unique.

Check out the Bonefish Sunday Brunch!

We love the fresh flavors! The atmosphere is always upbeat and fun. It's relaxing and enjoyable! Go and enjoy!

Country Outfitter Fashion Boots for Women, Silver Boots, Turquoise Cortez Cream

CarolinaMama Country Outfitter Corral Turquoise Boots

For a while now, Country Outfitter has caught my eye, and millions of others, right!  I love the pop or color and style in their boots I see all.over.the.internet!  So I was totally jazzed to join their Fashion Campaign for Fall.  Jumping ahead, this is my first photo in my Country Outfitter Boots! These stole my heart. Fall y'all....

These caught my eye immediately. As a woman of faith, I love the idea of these Woman's Circle G Corral Beige Side Cross Boots. Do you just LOVE! I do. I think I have more purchases in my future.

I have to admit, it was awesome and so fun to browse their website and choose boots. One problem, I LOVED A LOT of them!  I have my original black, Nocona's that I adore. So I was thinking do something fun like.... these beauties....

Corral Women's Tobacco Beige Silver Sequin Cross Boots.

Brown was on my mind since I love my black. I tend to go kind of basic so that it matches a lot of things.  Then, I saw these beautiful Silver Cowboy Boots! Look at that Bling! These would be so pretty for all of the Christmas Parties, the Holidays and on into New Year's Eve celebrations!  They are a favorite!  They are pretty with a little heel for dress up.

Miranda Women's Cowboy Bling Boot

Then I have a think for a pretty Red. Just look at these Women's Corral Desert Red Goat Leather Boot.  LOVE the RED. To me, red works with a lot of things. I really struggled with the idea of getting a pretty red. LOVE these. They have the traditional look that I love.

Ariat Women's Heritage Western R. Toe Boot Distressed Brown really made me consider my brown boot basics thoughts again. These were fun. I actually ordered these.  I know brown matches so many things.

I ordered the wrong size, so I knew I was going to have to exchange.  Let me say, Country Outfitters Exchanges were a Dream! I am serious. They were SO helpful to me. They answered a lot of questions.  And ultimately, I chose a pair I will wear forever! :)  It was SO hard to let these go. I mean, I was hanging out in them thinking, how I make a decision.  Clearly, I am going to be a future customer, as well.  I made the hard decision, after taking one more glance at these....

Introducing my Turquoise Babies. Are these not to die for - seriously! I LOVE them. I have to say, Corral is my favorite. They are a soft leather, they are very well made.

They are Handmade in Mexico. I LOVE that.

Corral Women's Turquoise Cortez Cream Fleur de Lis Boot.

The Fleur de Lis stole my heart for this New Orleans girl. Anything Fleur de Lis is a WIN! They are SO comfortable! I love them. The heel is perfect for so many things. As you see, they are so cute to wear with leggings.

So just a reminder, these re my absolute Favorite on the Planet! The Turquoise is perfect to match up with so many things for a Fashion statement. The prices at Country Outfitter is so reasonable.
Really great leather boots with fashion for less.

Another part of my ordering story is that I chose the Brown first even though I adored the Red and the Turquoise. Well, after I ordered my original ones my girlfriend posted her new boots...
these boots were here Birthday Celebration boots! Awesome!

Then, I LOVE they way she styled them here with her family picture.  Not only was she gracious
enough to agree to being "twins" in different cities, she agreed to be my model. :) She shared
her pics.

This is awesome here.  This is so beautiful all of the tonal colors. And
they ARE UNC Tar Heel colors.... almost. :) Works for me.
And Thank you, Donna!

When she posted these pictures, I realized... low and behold, the Turquoise with the Fleur de Lis!  I had not seen the Fleur de Lis and
had already loved them enough due to the fun color. So, when mine didn't fit I knew I had
to make the witch to the Turquoise... not without her blessing! :)  She being a sweet friend and
Fashionista, totally got that more than one lady could enjoy the beauty of these boots....

One last glimpse of my Country Outfitter boot choice - here we are Friday Night Lights and my Boots. Life is good.

Friday Night Lights Country Outfitter Boots Carolina Mama

Which color would you choose?! Did you love the Silver Boots? My Turquoise, or what is your choice? :) Check out Country Outfitter on Facebook, too.

Hope you get a pair of Country Outfitters soon and enjoy!

Christie and I pre-event. So eager and excited here at Lafayette Village, Raleigh, NC

Food Lion Frugal Cook-Off Raleigh 2014
Carolina Mama and Small Steps, Big Picture
WINNERS

So, as a Carolina Food Blogger, I literally jumped at the idea of getting to participate in the Food Lion Frugal Cook-Off. Then I set out to find a cooking partner, which I did, in my sweet young Mom, Christi of Small Steps, Big Picture, is a mother of five children six and under. Christi's husband is our sons' Youth Pastor. We are blessed with this sweet family.

Christie Funchess, Small Steps, Big Picture
Like me, Christi loves to cook tasty homemade meals at a frugal price for her family and we both love to blog. So there you have it, destiny. Between the two of us, we had our blogging and our frugal cooking on. When I asked Christi, I knew we would have fun. I love participating in events with Food Lion because we shop there, all.the.time. Basically, I said let’s read some cook books this week, just do our best and have fun. Well, that's what we did!

The Writer in me began writing as I was driving in the lovely 540 beltline traffic connecting Durham to Raleigh. Fun times. My writer self have three grounding points to center upon for the night.

Our Team is:

From the South
Fun with Family and
Frugal with Food Lion.

We were going to stick to our roots, Southern fare with the best flavor we could offer.

Christi and I met there. We’re modern families, she arrived with her five girls in tow. You know, “just a Mom.” Love her and her family. And I drove solo while my sweet, Boulder Mt. Man, ran the boys to Basketball practice and across the beltway to meet me. They are my secret sauce. I am so used to us being a Team. I almost invited the boys to cook on my team or my "Chef" Husband. Nonetheless, they arrived just when we were starting to get into the heat of the race. It was so wonderful to see them. As always, they so cheered me on. Here they are taking pictures of us cooking. :) Love.

Food Lion Frugal Cook-Off Raleigh 2014 Staples for each Team

Christi and I did convene a minute before the competition began. For some reason, we thought of recipes for all three but the ground turkey. Then I remembered my Writer’s Outline :) and my roots and declared Turkey Burgers! Then, my sweet Mama must have whispered in my ear, the Southern Surprise Burgers. She made these when we were children and we LOVED them. That was it, IF we got ground turkey.

I was feeling good when our station had the red cutting board....

Christi Funchess, Small Steps, Big Picture and Malise Terrell, Carolina Mama
Budgeting for the Food Lion Frugal Cook-Off Raleigh 2014
Then, we had to choose a number for our protein. Christi, asked what I had, 3. My sisters and I played basketball for years and there was always a 3 in our numbers. Well, there were 3 pointers, too. You guessed it, #3 was the ground turkey meat!

Destiny was waiting for us.... We had some work to do.

We had 10 minutes to plan our menu, 10 minutes to show with $15 to feed (4). Our protein was provided along with our staples. We got busy. We had 45 minutes to make the magic happen and be ready to present to the Judges.

Something reminded me that Chefs use Sous Chefs to do all of their chopping. So, we literally chopped and prepped first. I really wanted to use the Beautiful Buttercup Squash.

And I knew I had to turn my family favorite Sweet Potato Fries into Buttercup Squash Fries. Oven-baked made them frugal on calories, too.

First, we had to “reckon” with the Buttercup Squash. It was large and difficult to slice. Once we had that under control.... sort of....

... it was “secret” seasoning time and into the convection oven they went. The convection oven was a nice little addition to our kitchen. The fries cooked so soft, evenly and quickly! And they saved us time which was crucial to win.

Christi, got busy creating the incredible Apples and Onions Side she scouted out on Pinterest. It was amazing! We chose red and green apples to make it pop. It did. Look at these amazing and tasty apples.

Then, I said a prayer to remember my Mom’s Southern Surprise Turkey Burgers.... Literally, Christi and I both added spices and dashes to prepare the meat. I filled them with the secret ingredients (see our recipes below for all the details to create your own with your Food Lion groceries). Then, I sautéed the onion and mushroom topping for the burger.

Christie worked on creating a homemade BBQ sauce that was a nice zesty blend for dipping fries. Or, for the burgers.

We got to spruce it all up with the ramekins and restaurant touches from Driftwood Restaurant in Lafayette Village, Raleigh, NC. They really spoiled us and let us take over. It is an awesome restaurant. Their Chef was a great support to each team. He even washed a pan for us to use so I would have a non-stick for our Turkey Burgers grilling.

Then, VOILA!!!  We presented our creations.

Food Lion Frugal Cook-Off Raleigh, 2014 WINNER!
Southern Surprise Perky Burgers, Apple Onion Side and Buttercup Squash Fries

They asked questions, they tasted, asked more questions, wrote down some things.... then the waiting began....

and we were so excited for a WIN!!!   We were so excited! I LOVED that Boulder Mt. Man and my Tigers were there videoing and photographing and cheering us on. This picture shares the joy.

Thank you Food Lion and everyone for the fun and support.
