Our Summer Fun includes a visit to the awesomeness of the
NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher!
We fell in love! We had the most amazing day there. The drive was only 40 minutes
from Wilmington, North Carolina. So we picked up a fresh coffee and
some Chocolate Milk for the Tigers and we were off.
It was a pretty drive and as we drove onto Fort Fisher, the anticipation was growing!
Can you see our excitement!
"Welcome to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, located in Kure Beach, NC at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Visitors enjoy “The Waters of the Cape Fear”, as they take a journey down the Cape Fear River – from freshwater streams and swamps, to coastline habitats, reefs
and the open ocean."
Open 362 days a year, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
We were thrilled to be on the property. The Tigers were happy with the Welcome from the Angel Fish. :)
Then it was time for Auntie J and us to get this Field Trip rolling. We
didn't even plan our Red, Black and White ensemble that day.
But we looked all together and everything. Just like our perfect day!
Fort Fisher was so wonderful, I think it's a field trip in itself. When we return with Daddy, we're bringing our outdoor sporting gear and a picnic.....
Auntie J was thrilled to see the Alligators! I was, too!
This felt like were right at home in the swamps of Louisiana!
We got up close and personal with lots of lovely friends!
They took Turtle pictures for Mommy. I think they are so cute.
We touched the StarFish. This is a family favorite of ours.
So we were thrilled. We kinda wanted to make him a pet and
take him home to live in our own Aquarium....
Just beautiful! All of the Aquarium Staff is extremely helpful and informative.
Look, it's a Sting Ray! These are amazing. And a little terrifying to me. :)

Touch a LIVE Shark! @ the NEW Bamboo Shark Exhibit
Yes, yes, this Helicopter Mom, let the Tigers TOUCH A SHARK!
Okay, yes, I joined 'em! And so did Auntie J! See, evidence of the fun.
This was a cool adventure. The boys were in heaven.
I never tire of seeing our boys LOVING on Nature like this!
They know the fish, the birds, and all of wild life.
If I didn't know better, I would think their names were
Adam. Adam and Adam. They commune with nature!
We loved seeing all the fish as we have just become Fish Keepers. :)
So we had to have pictures of the Angel Fish ... just like ours! :)
