Wilimington and Wrightsville are incredibly beautiful and family friendly. They are a few of hours from Raleigh and Charlotte and many other North Carolina cities and towns. Myrtle Beach, SC is just an hour and a half from Wilmington.
So we took advantage of the two and a half hour drive to one of the most beautiful NC Beaches and headed to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach! We also visited Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The Carolina Beach Board Walk Surrey Ride was wonderful and so fun. Follow our blog so you can see the specific posts of this incredible vacation to the NC Coast Beaches.
Our destination was the Holiday Inn Resort on Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
This property is gorgeous and immaculate. We loved the flowers and clean lawn and pool area.
Our spacious room was fabulous and comfortable. The room had an oceanfront deck.
The Holiday Inn gave us a very warm Southern Welcome. We were so happy to get there.
We loved the Snacks after our Surf Camp! |
After we unloaded the car the Tigers enjoyed the Fresh Cold Lemonade in the lobby. Perfect on the hot Summer day.
Of course, I couldn't help but spot the Tri Delta Dolphins in the staircase! :) There were three like
Tri Delt! :)
The Bell Captains gave us lots of good information about the Resort and the Island.
Auntie J was so fun to vacation with again.
We had a fabulous Oceanfront Room with a View and a Deck.
We loved waking up to this view each morning. Look how peaceful.
This resort could well be an all inclusive in the sense that there is so much to do right there at the Holiday Inn Resort. The Amenities are endless - with a huge outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool, three (3) :) hot tub jacuzzis.
The Holiday Inn Resort has their own private beach access to their beach. The Pool Guys helped me with chairs and offered umbrellas. We had just enough cloud coverage that we didn't need an umbrella. And we were swimming and looking for seashells.
We love the proximity to Wilmington, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. There is so much to do here. Keep following along on the blog here for our other adventures like Surf Camp, USS Battleship NC, NC Aquarium Fort Fisher, Historic Wilmington, etc. All of these North Carolina favorites are within 10 minutes of Wrightsville Beach in the Wilmington area. The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher is a 40 minute drive and so worth it. We could have spent a couple of days there. :)
We loved all of the Family and Kids Amenities at the Holiday Inn Resort. And the resident Mascots Abbie and Gabbie, the parrots, are so fun and beautiful!
Our room with a view was fabulous. The Tigers spotted Dolphin every morning and they saw F-15 and F-16s fly overhead. Just sayin'!
Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach - we fell in love. Thank you for making our Summer! It's amazing that you are just 2 and 1/2 hours from the Raleigh/Durham area. See ya soon!
Thank you Holiday Inn Resort for hosting us. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Have a great Summer.
*FTC Disclosure: Our Trip was Sponsored by the Wilmington Convention and Visitor's Bureau. We loved working with them and we love sharing about our lovely North Carolina Coast. All opinions are our own.
Looks like a great time!! Love this area.
