Fortunately for me, I learned well. Except for one little thing... some times I get going on all of my menu items and I stir this, and that and next thing you know my stirring is everywhere.
Here is a perfect example, I was teaching my cousin's daughter - my cousin once removed - how to bake a cake. Everything was going great. We even had our aprons on. And Mr. Kitchen Aide was buzzing along. She was loving every minute of learning from her cool Auntie when suddenly crash, splat... the entire bowl slipped out of my hand right onto the kitchen floor.
That was the worst of my stirring situations. Of course, I have learned from it. So check out my new routine. When the cooking gets going, here's my Carolina Mama Cooking Tip! even Paula Deen and Martha Stewart would approve of :
That's right! The entire bowl is nice and snugly situated in the kitchen sink! No more bowl slippage! And it is a free kitchen tip. How about that! Works every time! And yes, that's a shout out to Dawn. We really l.o.v.e their foaming soaps!
Really ya'll it works beautifully. What do you do to survive in the kitchen? :) This Works For Me Wednesday! Do tell me what works for you?
Tomorrow starts "Best of Carolina" Live-Blogging Getaway! Giveaways included! Come early and often and be a part of the fun!
Warmly,
Never thought of that, great tip!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!! Will try that... only problem is that you need an empty sink, and when I cook, there is never an empty sink!!! Something to work toward in life. :-)
