Great Falls National Park
I'll add this one of the Park so you can appreciate its beauty even though I know you appreciate the beauty of the Tigers and me. Here's how breath-taking the park actually is.
We spent time 'bouldering' - rock climbing. They learned so quickly. Back then, the park visits were not as long as today's hour long hike 'on the adult trail.' It wasn't just at the tot-lot or in the kiddy park. These guys have grown.
My days then were full with sippy cups, naps, playtime. I loved it and relished every minute because time does march on. So today as I look back at those days. I cherish the memory because today we're making some new ones.
And I can't quite fathom what these days will be when when I look back. The time when they were 'little guys' because right now, they are big boys, growing quickly.
So in the note - words of Michelle Obama to Laura Bush:
"There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. Yet that will be the beginning." Louis L'Amour
Just as toddlerhood finished and childhood began, so I embrace these stages as we begin again anew. Did I tell you next month the Tigers are "8" years old! That's "8."
What do you seize about today?

Warmly,
It is amazing to look back on that type of thing. My nephew turns eight mext week and I cannot fathom where the time has gone.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly stand the thought of my princess being too big to carry and cradle like a baby in my arms. Time does go by so quickly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the sweet picture of you and the boys.

I love hiking and playing at the mountains! What beautiful pictures you have...and tigers.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute boys! I remember those days...my kids called those types of pics "tree-hugging pics"! LOL
ReplyDeleteI agree, it goes so quickly. I look at my almost 12 year old son and wonder when he got so big.
ReplyDeleteMr. C and I have been pretty much on target with our training for the half in March. The snow slowed down our short runs but we are keeping up with the long runs.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too worried about the Krispy Kreme Challenge...I don't have to practice eatting 12 doughnuts :-)
What a fun picture! We are a hiking family too.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Great Falls National Park! We live about 20 minutes away, so we go fairly often.
ReplyDeleteI really relate to your thoughts about the years flying by. My baby boy is 16 now, and those sippy cup days still seem so recent. Life is but a dream.
Time does go by so fast. Right now it feels like I will always be in the toddler/sippy cup/dependent phase, but I know it will be gone before I know it! Such a sweet photo of you and the Tigers! :)

Beautiful post! My husband and I are in a quest to visit every NP during our lifetime. Where is Great Falls? We haven't hit it yet, but those pics are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI hear what your saying about the kids growing. My son turns 5 this spring and my daughter 3 next month with my baby a year and a half already! I try hard to savor these moments b/c you are so right... they are passing so quickly!

Childhood, such a wonderful time, does go by quickly. Enjoy the great age of eight!
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT post. And the quote is absolutely perfect.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as a mom that just watched her oldest graduate college this past December, I totally agree with you. We need to seize each moment with our kids, cuz it will be gone in a blink of an eye!
ReplyDeleteI'm reminding myself that those difficult teen years fly by, too!
What a wonderful photo of you and the boys.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly believe my kids will be 10 and 8 this year. *sigh*
Great photos! Just beautiful. Keep embracing every minute...it really goes by so fast.
ReplyDeleteHaving my oldest start high school this year was unbelievable to me. I don't know where the time goes. Every year just goes by quicker and quicker. It is strange to think that the next time there is a presidential election he will be voting! I try to cherish every minute but sometimes we forget!
ReplyDeleteLeft you a Meme over on my blog!
ReplyDeleteToday.. will do my final shopping for the coming lunar new year, then cleaning the house, put a little decorating.. yes, you bet it's gonna be hectic!
ReplyDeleteStill, I hope to seize the day of the joy of making all of these chores happen with my family. The bonding, the laughters.. you'll find that in the end of the day, that's all matters despite of a tiring figure. ^^
