Greetings this Monday Morning!
On the Back to Me front, it was a steady week. No up or down in the terms of numbers. However, I was happy for a constant in this Season of the year. We have had several evening activities - like the Musical Dessert the Twins were in, a party, a late dinner. So I have to say I was beyond the 7pm eating factor. More reinforcement that if I follow my weekly goals I usually see a result.
This week, I want to make sure that I get the requisite number of hours of sleep. Like lots of mamas, I usually can be highly productive in the hours when the house is quite as a peep and everyone is asleep. This week, I want to ensure I get a full nights sleep - going for 8 hours. 7 hours would suffice. And I plan to not eat after 7pm five nights because I do have my Christmas party with the girls tonight and one with Mt. Man Friday night and when the party starts at 6pm, it is just crazy to try to finish up by 7pm. How funny would that be if I were power eating to 'finish' up by 7pm, because the socializing starts at 6pm not the dinner, etc.
Anyone, else doing something this week? Please share. I know several want to join in come January. And I will admit, I am making these strides to get through the Holiday Season reasonably. Other than that, January will bring some challenges anew and I would love to have you join in. Keep me posted.
Also, this is a very special 'shout out' to a new Monday I discovered through my readers, Christy, Sarah and Jennifer, :) It's "Motivate Me Monday" by Sarah Mae. It may make for a busy Monday post, but I couldn't resist joining in on her spiritual side of my Back to Me Monday physical side of things.
Recently, the Lord has put on my heart to give Him the work of my hands. He sets the work and may I let Him prioritize it. Furthermore, it is my desire to find my confidence in Him. As a wife, mama, woman, we are all juggling so many things. Over the Holidays I talked with my Aunt about this as she observed our lives and my activities/commitments up close. She kept saying, "you're juggling for sure." I think at a distance she has heard me say this and the past ten days she observed it.
I feel blessed that there are so many avenues are open for the women at home. However, in the business of it all I want to always do it unto Him. And have the Lord prioritize my days.
On the lines of the balancing act the Proverbs 31 woman has been on my mind. And I will highlight a few verses below that I am thinking about and want to share.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 ... and works with eager hands.
15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 ... and her lamp does not go out at night.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
As I seek balance in my many roles as a child of the King, I want to stay focused on His call on my life right now. If I keep these verses in my heart, I am more likely to focus on them. And not the business of this world. There are a few of my favorite verses in Proverbs 31 right now. Let me know your favorites.
P.S. Please go over to Southern Grits and Tidbits and encourage my friend, Shannon. They are real farmers, with real Corn. All of these really crazy numbers and economy are a real challenge right now. We need our farmers and corn and appreciate all of their work and talent.
Warmly,
Oh, Lord let us all aspire to be the true Proverbs woman and give you our hands to do Your work. What an awesome post! Look forward to more.

I really like the verse that says she (the Proverbs 31 woman) laughs at the days to come. That sounds like a woman who truly has a gentle and quiet spirit - she is secure in the Lord and has joy.
ReplyDeleteAs for Spark people, I have been a member for about two and half years. However, Most of that time has been spent pregnant or nursing, no so much of losing weight! After this one is born, and nursing is up, I plan on using Spark people to lose the weight again - it has worked after every baby! :)
Love that you are doing so well with a return to healthy lifestyle. Thanks for the reminder.... I've been intentional about drinking water (more than I had) and doing my best to get to be on time.
ReplyDeleteLove the Proverbs 31 reference. I've been feeling a call to returning to basics in my role as Daughter of the King, Wife, Momma, Family Manager. It's so easy to neglect these important focuses and get caught up in all the other (good) tasks that come at us.
Great post, thanks for this!
Awww, I am blushing. Thanks for the shout out.
ReplyDeleteLaughing about the power eating at the party. How funny would THAT be!
love this post! great reminders to us women!
ReplyDeleteYou could be such a great inspiration to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for welcoming me to twitter, and being my first follower! I admit I am still figuring it out! The Christmas party went really well, and my baby did great!! She is almost 10 months old and up till now would not take a bottle. Well, she took one for my mom! It was the longest I had been away from her and she did great. Thanks for checking in on me. =) Back to me, I am down 2 lbs, but stayed the same the past week. Which is good considering the season!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Megan
Saw you over on SITS so I thought I'd come by and say "hi." Balancing is so hard! I'm not a wife or mother, but I do have school responsibilities (actually, I'm basically done with this), work responsibilities, church responsibilities, friends to love on... Yeah, it takes balance!
ReplyDeleteI stopped by from SITS to welcome you:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post!
This is the cry of my heart, too! Thanks for sharing this... Once I finish working through Col. 3:12-17, I think I'll take this passage next. Thanks for the encouragement, friend!
