We Did It! "The Love Seat Project" is Complete
The Tigers were awesome little helpers! They wanted to jump in - all things hammer, banging, basically loud and distructive they're in! Kidding - sort of. ;)
We all had a grand time. I say all because you really didn't think I went at it alone did you? The lovely babysitter was hired again - not to watch the Tigers - this time to be my lead and helping hands the "the Love Seat Project!" She was awesome.
She had taken on a task like this before and between the two or four or five, because yes Mt. Man did make two trips to Lowe's for us. In fact, until they ran out of said "Furniture Nails/tacks." So you may notice we're waiting on the next shipment - I think 25 - 50 is about all we need.
Here's May Take Away:
1) It was fun!
2) I bought double the fabric supplies I needed UNintentionally;
(Expect more Toile - French Country projects in the near future; ;)
3) Because yes, it is addicting;
4) Yes, it is delightful to glance over in our bedroom and see "The Love Seat" smiling back; and
5) Yes, it took about double the time we anticipated. It was worth it. :)
Now I have to send a picture to my 'mama' because she will be so happy to see the Love Seat getting the love it needs. Right here in here native Carolinas. Did I tell you this beauty has come full-circle.
It is, it has and it's perfect. Thanks for stopping by. Are you a project girl? Can you feel my anxiety and then my joy?! :)

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That is absolutely gorgeous. I love every detail of it...the toile, the nailheads, the shape of that beautiful old piece. You really did a great job, congrats on that. I have never reupholstered, just recovered chairs, but that looks GREAT!
ReplyDeleteWe just saw Fireproof last weekend and it was great too. I'm gonna recommend it on my blog this week.
It looks absolutely gorgeous! And you didn't need to worry about before and worse-than-before pictures after all... because it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I have a chair here with your name all over it, lol.
ReplyDeleteI have one almost just like it, except for the fabric, that belonged to my grandmother. It was re-covered in the 80s in a fabric I'm not that fond of. I love your toile fabric. Sadly, I don't have room for it, so its stored in the garage. Need to get rid of that treadmill and put it in its place! :o) Yours is beautiful. Good job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job! I love the toile!!! It looks professional.:-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind on everyone's blogs, so I'll also comment here that you did a fantastic job on the puppet theater, too. What fun~
AND, we haven't seen Fireproof yet, but plan to next week on our anniversary.
